The Mercado District needed a way to effectively promote its food hall business and establish itself as an RGV destination. They turned to CODESM for a holistic and robust approach. The Challenge
As the first food hall in the region, The Mercado District offered McAllen a vibrant, artisanal community of 28 businesses and 9 distinct eateries showcasing the area’s best chefs, crafters, and curators. Its challenge was not only to brand itself as a destination in the community, but also to brand its individual eateries and create a cohesive message for the entire experience. The Approach
CODESM’s solution was to create a holistic marketing approach. This approach leveraged multiple marketing channels to deliver a cohesive messaging strategy focused on The Mercado District’s unique selling points (USPs). CODESM identified these USPs and crafted a powerful messaging strategy to unify each of Mercado’s individual marketing campaigns.
Once developed, these tools became part of a marketing campaign that leveraged top marketing channels. These channels included an organic Facebook and Instagram social media strategy that presented carefully chosen content and images to promote Mercado’s USPs and highlight individual eateries and businesses. In addition, CODESM sought to dominate the search resu lts for related keywords through a robust SEO and content marketing approach. In order to drive interest through the holidays and to drive commuters toward Mercado during the slower lunch hours, CODESM also developed a variety of themed campaigns and a lunch special campaign.
